Dania Beach Pier is a classic South Florida community fishing pier extending into the Atlantic Ocean from Dania Beach, just south of Fort Lauderdale. The pier’s location near the Port Everglades inlet gives it a distinct advantage — baitfish concentrate near the inlet current, and predatory species follow. This creates excellent variety and consistent action throughout the year.
It’s a no-frills, community fishing pier — straightforward, affordable, and productive. The surrounding Dania Beach area has a relaxed, old-Florida feel with beachside restaurants and shops nearby. The pier is well-lit and excellent for night fishing year-round.

Fishing at Dania Beach Pier
Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Jack Crevalle are frequently seen chasing bait schools past the pier end. Pompano work the surf zone near shore. Snook and Tarpon are present in summer months. In winter, Sheepshead move in around the pilings and Whiting become plentiful throughout the pier.
Work artificial lures fast near the surface for Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish in spring and fall. Live shrimp under a float near the lights at night is the go-to for Snook. Sheepshead in winter need fiddler crabs or small shrimp fished tight to the pilings.
