Closed for Renovation
As of June 3, 2026, the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier is closed for a major renovation and repair project. Check with the City of Deerfield Beach for reopening updates before planning a fishing trip. The details below describe the pier as it normally operates.
Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier:
The Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier stretches 976 feet into the Atlantic and has been the crown jewel of Deerfield Beach for generations — people still tell stories about fishing it as kids in the 1960s. It draws thousands of anglers and walkers a year, right off A1A with restaurants and the beach all around it.
The pier concession at the entrance rents rods and stocks live, fresh and frozen bait, tackle, ice and t-shirts, so it’s an easy one-stop trip. Out on the deck you’ll find fish-cleaning stations, running water and benches, plus an underwater camera feed showing the reef life below.
Anglers here report a wide mix — bluefish, blue runners, jacks, Spanish mackerel, sharks, tarpon and snook — and a lucky few have even hooked sailfish off the end. The pier also hosts free environmental workshops through the year.

Fishing at Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier
When the pier is open, the bite runs the length of the seasons — mackerel and bluefish runs, snook around the pilings, and sharks and tarpon for those fishing big baits off the end. Cut bait, live bait and spoons all work. Mornings and incoming tides are usually best.
