Jetty Park Pier:
Jetty Park sits right at the mouth of Port Canaveral, where the Atlantic meets the inlet, and its 1,200-foot paved and lighted pier is the most popular spot in the area to fish on foot. It’s the centerpiece of a 35-acre park with a beach, campground, playground and some of the best rocket-launch viewing on the Space Coast.
The pier is set up for serious fishing: running water and fish-cleaning stations are right there, and night fishing is allowed from the pier (it’s the only place in the park you can fish after dark). Anglers pull in snook, tarpon, trout, redfish, flounder, black drum, sheepshead and seasonal mackerel.
Because it’s a designated fishing pier, you don’t need to buy a separate license to fish it — though the park does charge a vehicle entry fee, and a free Florida saltwater shoreline license is recommended. Park staff can’t issue licenses on site.
It’s a true multi-purpose spot. Between casts you’ll watch cruise ships head out of the port, dolphins and manatees work the inlet, and — if you time it right — a rocket climbing over the Atlantic.

Fishing at Jetty Park Pier
Seasons drive the bite here: sheepshead and flounder in winter, snook in spring, tarpon through the summer heat, and redfish and mackerel in the fall. Fish the outgoing tide when fish chase bait through the inlet, and favor dawn and dusk. Live shrimp, finger mullet and jigs all produce.
