These are the big-water piers — the 52 Coastal Piers spot where Florida’s fishing piers reach straight out into the open Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. No bays, no backwaters; just the surf, the swells, and the kind of fishing that brings out the king mackerel, the snook, and the tarpon.
We’ve split them by coast so you can find your water fast. The Gulf side runs sugar-sand beaches and easy sunsets from the Panhandle down to Naples. The Atlantic side runs deeper, with the Gulf Stream swinging close to shore from Jacksonville to the Keys. Every pier below is one worth driving for — and the ones we’ve fished ourselves, we’ll tell you about straight.
